Fecomércio Sesc Senac System

INTRODUCTION TO FECOMÉRCIO GOIÁS

History

Founded in March 1948 as an initiative of a group of entrepreneurs led by the journalist Jaime Câmara, Fecomércio was established to support the struggles of business owners in Goiás and give them a voice within the National Confederation of Commerce (CNC). It received recognition through a Ministerial Letter in the same month and was officially installed two months later.

Mandate

Fecomércio brings together 33 employers’ unions from different sectors and has achieved numerous accomplishments throughout its history, making it a notable part of the state’s history. Over more than half a century of operation, it has consistently encouraged business growth, defended free enterprise, and stimulated the development of the domestic market and micro, small, medium, and large enterprises. Along with the 33 employers’ unions, Fecomércio represents nearly 300,00 companies in the state, which accounts for around 70% of the GDP of Goiás.

In pursuit of these objectives, the Federation of Commerce has advocated its viewpoint to the government, taking positions on state reforms, proposing a fair tax system, and combating unfair practices in the commerce sector, which has significant potential for job creation.

Fecomércio is also responsible for the state-level administration of the Social Service of Commerce (Sesc) and the National Commercial Learning Service (Senac), which are private nonprofit institutions. Together, these three institutions form the Federation of Commerce of the State of Goiás/Sesc/Senac System, fully supported by the business community in the commerce sector, without any burden on employees or public funds.
